PLEASANTON, Calif. — Hacienda will be installing its annual salute to Flag Day and the Fourth of July on Monday, June 10, 2019. Continuing a six year tradition, the installation will once again be conducted by long-standing Pleasanton business, T. Marshall Electric, who has performed this work for Hacienda each year. The installations will begin early in the afternoon and will continue throughout the day.

Each year, Hacienda mounts three-foot by five-foot flags from the lampposts along Hacienda Drive from I-580 to W. Las Positas, and on Stoneridge Drive from Hopyard Road to Santa Rita Road. A total of 50 flags, one for each state, will be installed just prior to Flag Day, June 14th, and proudly displayed through mid-July. Inspired by then-freshman and Pleasanton resident Amanda McKenzie in 2013, the idea for the flag display throughout Hacienda was a project developed as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award. Six years later, Amanda McKenzie's Gold Award project has become a Hacienda tradition.

“Pleasanton's community spirit is at the core of the city and Hacienda enjoys the opportunity to be a part of that when it comes to traditions like celebrating Flag Day and Independence Day" notes James Paxson, Hacienda's general manager. "Hacienda values being in a community that recognizes the importance of such spirit and taking part in Pleasanton's celebrations."
